THE best thing about department stores is there's a lot to choose from; the frustrating thing about department stores is there's too much choice.

SELFRIDGES' BEAUTY MUST HAVES 2016
From sugar scrub lipbalms to the most expensive perfume in the world, we find out the must-have products at Selfridges
JO MALONE RED ROSES COLOGNE - £85 (100ml)
"Remember the Valentine's Day when you received your first bouquet of red roses? This scent will bring you back to that time." - Des Davis.
CLINIQUE SWEET POTS - £15
"This is a grown-up version of the EOS lipbalms - but still very cute. You exfoliate your lips with the sugar scrub then you apply a tinted lipbalm. It's very difficult at this time of year to prevent lips from becoming dry and chapped so this is a great product to keep in your handbag." - Des Davis.
LAURA MERCIER CANDLEGLOW SOFT LUMINOUS FOUNDATION - £35
"This is a fantastic foundation. It's blurs over pores and creates a beautiful, poreless soft glow. Think of the way your skin looks at dinner by candlelight." - Des Davis
CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC CREAM - £70
"Charlotte Tilbury's grandmother used to make her own skin creams and Charlotte adopted the recipe. She would use her unbranded creams on supermodels such as Kate Moss, who would bring little tubs to shoots so they could take some home. They would say, "I need to have some of your magic cream!" So Charlotte Tilbury created her own." - Des Davis.
CLARINS MULTI ACTIVE DAY CREAM - £42
"We all know a twenty-something who's burning the candle at both ends. This cream contains multi-actives and can improve the condition of tired skin."- Des Davis
CREME DE LA MER - RENEWEL OIL - £155
"I try not to be biased but I love Creme De La Mer. I use all the products and have done for years. The renewel oil contains marine ingredients and while they aren't advertised as an anti-ageing product, help with keeping skin wrinkle-free . I also swear by the eye creams." - Des Davis.
DERMALOGICA HYDRABLUR PRIMER - £38
"You have to try this. The Hydrablur great for people with large pores and acne scarring. It quite literally blurs away imperfections and creates picture perfect skin." - Des Davis
ILLAMASQUA LIQUID LIPSTICK IN FIRE - (Coming Soon)
"Put this on and it isn't going anywhere. The pigment is a gorgeous firey red." - Des Davis
GWEN STEFANI URBAN DECAY PALETTE - £40

MAISON MARGIELA REPLICA FRAGRANCES - £80 (100ml)
"I call these perfumes 'genius in a bottle'. You know they say smells can trigger certain memories? Well, Margiela has bottled scents and moments from different periods of time. Think childhood memories at the beach, candyfloss at the fair and your favourite lipstick." - Des Davis.
MAC MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKS - £21
"Matte liquid lipsticks are really popular at the minute. The brush makes it easy to apply, and acts like as a lip-liner in one." - Des Davis.
CLIVE CHRISTIAN 1872 PERFUME £110 (30ml)
"I much prefer to point people in the direction of luxury perfumes, instead of the mass produced fragrances. Clive Christian is one of my favorites and uses top grade ingredients. It's developed by interior designer Clive Christian and his daughter, and there's a wonderful story behind it. The 1872 perfume comes both for men and women and is just a classic, refined and beautiful scent. Clive Christian also boasts the 'most expensive perfume in the world' which costs £2,700." - Des Davis.
