Authentic home-cooking has made this Thai a hit
FAMILY-RUN and led by a very talented Thai-born chef May Wakefield, Chilli Banana Didsbury is a success waiting to happen. It opened in autumn 2016 and is steadily making a name for itself as one of the area's most interesting new restaurants.
Its notable mainly because of May's menu, which features family recipes she learned on the farm where she grew up in rural Thailand. These traditional dishes are found alongside street food options on the lunch menu. Together they offer an authentic taste of modern Thailand.
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed – you get a real sense of warmth from the team there. It's ideal for an easy midweek meal out, as well as a special treat at the weekend.
Chilli Banana is housed in the Edwardian arcade on Lapwing Lane, in between West Didsbury and Didsbury Village.
