Get ur beak on – back Yard & Coop’s crowdfunder
THE home of buttermilk fried chicken since 2015, Yard & Coop’s famous chicken and ‘chirps’ have taken first the Northern Quarter in Manchester and then Liverpool’s Hanover Street by storm. Now owners Carl and Laura Morris are looking to spread their wings and tempt Leeds with their perfect buttermilk recipe, which to this day remains a closely guarded secret.
To do so, Yard & Coop has launched a crowdfunding campaign and the team is calling on its finger-licking buttermilk fried chicken fans to help out.
‘We’re keen to expand and grow our North West-born business, but getting the banks to support small businesses is hard, so this time we’re calling on our mates, fans and any future diners to become part of Yard & Coop’s next adventure.’
The Y&C Kickstarter campaign is live right now, and they’re looking to you to help them reach their crowdfunding goal of £50,000 – which they need to hit by the end of the month. So whether you’ve got a cheeky £25 going spare or a flush £1,000 to pledge, pick one of the five reward schemes and get signing up in November!
In return, you’ll get some great goodies, including exclusive invites to launch parties, a limited-edition Y&C ‘I own a Chicken Shop’ tee, your name on the Owners’ Wall, and free food and drink in any and all of the Yard & Coop restaurants: from a complimentary meal for you and a mate to free chicken for life –yes that’s right,FREE CHICKEN FOR LIFE!
People keen to invest in their favourite chicken restaurant have less than 30 days to sign up, with the campaign having an ‘all or nothing’ policy. If Yard & Coop does not manage to reach its £50,000 target in the time period, the entire investment will be lost, however close the final goal is. No pressure, guys.
Laura says: ‘Manchester has made for an incredible four years, but even when things go well, sometimes you just need a helping hand. So we’re calling on all fans and future Y&C lovers from across the city to help us get this Manchester company to the finish line and be part of Yard & Coop’s history.’
