Christmas carol concert is coming to town!
MIRACLE on First Street is how WOOD are describing Christmas round theirs this year, with magical menus and winter-warmer drinks in the lounge. And they’ve just announced that they’re sprinkling some extra festive cheer on proceedings with a special carol concert as the season takes hold.
There’ll be live music ‘in the wood’ on Wednesday 19 December when a special quintet made up of players from the renowned and award-winning Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band will be welcomed into the restaurant to entertain diners with Christmas carols throughout the evening.
No strangers to such celestial venues as the Royal Albert Hall, London, and the Symphony Hall, Birmingham, the sparkling backdrop of MasterChef winner Simon Wood’s kitchen should be perfect for the musicians, three times winners of the prestigious National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain since 2010 and collaborators with The Unthanks, among others.
Sounds like the perfect accompaniment to such festive food as WOOD’s cranberry-cured salmon, turkey and trimmings, and chocolate and clementine tart, we reckon.
