WIN a £50 bar tab to spend on food and drink at Northern Quarter newcomer Alvarium, and check out Manchester’s newest go-to green space.Their fresh take on cocktails took months to rustle up and now it’s ready for you to try out – from crowd-pleasing classics to specially created ‘house’ cocktails, including the pretty-in-pink Rosemary Fountain combination of vodka, homemade rosemary syrup, grapefruit, fresh lime juice and bitters, and the Royal Nectar, which mixes honey, white rum, Cointreau and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

 Half of the wine list is vegan friendy, including some of the Prosecco options, and both draught and bottled beers are available, along with various soft drinks and freshly prepared hot drinks – perfect with one of the Zara Cakes individual cupcakes or slices. Other food will be added soon, including healthy light bites, including sandwiches, baguettes and paninis, followed by tapas-style small dishes.

 The café / bar, inspired by the great outdoors and fresh, natural ingredients, is even promising to instal its own greenhouse, growing herbs to be used in both the food and the drink serves. It’s a perfect plan for Alvarium, with its outside space, ‘green wall’, freshly cut flowers, potted plants and bee tributes.
