WE like the way they do things at CIBO – the Italian restaurant on Liverpool Road. Particularly when it comes to this competition prize which includes not one bottle of prosecco between two, but one bottle each. Clearly, they know the Confidential readers too well.
Other things we approve of at CIBO include their Neapolitan cafe-style vibe: chic and laid back. And their first-class food, which comes from Salvatore Galdo – a head chef obsessed with fresh, quality produce.
Fresh fish plays a big role in his pasta dishes, and in starters and mains such as his Cornish crab cakes, and pan fried sea bass fillet. There's also stone-baked pizza with classic Italian toppings (none of your wacky Americanised creations here). And a beautiful range of desserts including homemade gelato, a superb homemade tiramisu, and a cream and vanilla panna cotta.
CIBO is from the same family of restaurants as the award-winning Don Giovanni on Oxford Street. This one is smaller and more relaxed in style but the food hits the same high notes.
