From bucket-loads of Bollinger to historical cocktails, this drinking den has it all
Nestled beneath 1761 restaurant, Lily’s is one of Manchester’s newest and most exciting drinking dens: a chance to escape from the city above and take a step back in time.
Here you’ll find an extensive wine and beer list, a wealth of spirits and plenty of a non-boozy persuasion too.
One of the most notable things about Lily’s, however, is Bollinger. The bar was named for ‘Lily’ Bollinger, who expanded the global champagne company following her husband’s death - and whose famous quote about champers can be found in the bar’s menu.
The other is cocktails: sweet, bitter, fruity and everything in between. Each meticulous creation even comes with historical snippet, from Charlie Chaplin’s silent cinema to a Miss Marple murder case.
From sparkling cyanide (Prosecco, rhubarb, rose and butterfly pea flower) to The Grapes of Wrath (La Bosq Rouge, Lazzaroni amaretto, lemon, butterscotch and Aztec chocolate bitters), you’re to find your poison of choice…particularly with £100 to spend as you please.
