Watch – We style French Connection’s best festive party dresses

We don’t know about you but the mere thought of peeling off our 1000 denier tights and slipping into something short and festive brings us up in hives (we haven't quite gotten round to shaving our legs yet). Nonetheless the season for frilly frocks and festivities is upon us: it’s time to splurge on a new Christmas party dress. 

No sooner did French Connection make its anticipated return to Manchester did we braced our debit cards and prepared to shop the brand’s stellar festive collection.

Now open at Royal Exchange, the new store is filled to the brim with velvet, sequins, tulle and lace  in a variety modern styles and shapes. We’re spoilt for choice, so we’ve whittled down our three favourites.

Our latest lookbook takes place in the suitably sparkly Rosso restaurant, while neighbouring beauty salon, House of Evelyn, provided the shimmery hair and make up.Boss Model Management's affable model Calla, was given subtle but impactful makeup: glowy skin, sparkly eyes, strong brows and a sexy red lip.
