From comedy with Josie Long to quizzes with Rufus Hound, SocialEyes has an event for all
With the country back in lockdown, a new ‘virtual venue’ has launched this month; bringing an impressive array of experiences to a screen near you…and raising money for good causes to boot.
From beatboxing with world champ Grace Savage to baking with GBBO’s Ugne Bubnaityte and singing with musical theatre star Cassidy Janson, SocialEyes features live interactive classes with some of each industry’s most famous folk.
Education aside, there’s plenty of pure entertainment too; DJ nights with Manchester’s very own Clint Boon, shows with BGT’s Magical Bones, quizzes with comedian Rufus Hound and much more besides.
Other events span live podcasts to parties, makeup masterclasses to meditation, with hosts including; Shelly Poole, Ally McErlaine, Horse, Lucy Hind, Renee Lamb, Tim Mahendran, Gaynor Faye, Heather Peace, Adiza Shardow, Lauren Lyle, Laurie Brett, Patsy Palmer, Josie Long, Matt King, James Mac and Katherine Rhodes.
Each experience takes place live on zoom with very limited numbers, meaning every audience will always be visible and able to interact. Customers can either buy tickets for timed events or book a ‘backstage’ experience with the host - allowing them to create their own personal event to enjoy with friends, family or colleagues.
Every good time created by SocialEyes will also contribute to a good cause. Each host donates a percentage of their fee to a charity of their choice and the platform will match-donate this percentage to the #WeMakeEventsmovement; supporting those affected by loss of work in the performance and live events sector. SocialEyes will also be offering a personalised Santa’s Grotto from the end of November, including a gift to each child; for every gift sent, they will donate an extra toy to a child who needs one via Kids Out.
Co-founder Lee Beattie, who has worked in the live events industry for over 20 years, said: “This festive period is going to be a bit different for all of us this year. Our normal get-togethers, office parties and nights-out are unlikely to go ahead as normal so we wanted to find a way to bring families, friends and workplaces together to socialise and enjoy some quality entertainment - no matter where they are in the country.”
