With a dedicated barman, ‘super salon’ Barn//It offers a range of treatments and tipples
WE’VE OFTEN said that the best accompaniment to nitrocellulose and ethyl acetate is a gin cocktail on the rocks. We kid.
Every inch of the new salon is totally ‘instagrammable'
Though it seems our city’s evident love of cocktails and equally noticeable love of pruning oneself will marry up in new ‘super salon’ Barn//It on John Dalton Street.
Launched by celebrity hair stylist and known fundraiser, Andrew Trott-Barn, the new salon is a collaboration between hair, beauty and body specialists offering a variety of beauty treatments – the manicure/cocktail bar is the icing on a well-decorated cake.
Considered a first for the city, Barn//It boasts its own dedicated barman, who makes up drinks while guests get nail lacquered and liquored up on the shiny new multi-purpose bar. Best of all, the first drink comes complimentary.
It's a nice touch, harking back to when salons and barbershops were considered just as much a social and gossip haven as a grooming pit stop. Of course, Prosecco and pampering have always been a perfect pairing, yet Barn//It's fully stocked bar operates more like an NQ bar haunt.
Based in the handsome heritage building New Church House, Barn//It also gets its super salon status for its innumerable treatments spread across five stylised floors.
Guests can visit barn//it Hairdressing, headed up by Andrew himself, along with other stations dedicated to select treatments - from an expert cut to a full reinvention - offering everything from braids, botox and microdermabrasion to laser facials, lip enhancement and mani-pedis.
‘We’ve thought long and hard about what the ultimate salon experience would be and have left nothing to chance," says Andrew, who has worked on the tresses of local stars from Catherine Tyldesley to Michelle Keegan.
"Every detail has been thought about and made bespoke to order. Every inch of the new salon is totally ‘instagrammable’ – I’m excited to welcome everyone and share the Barn//It experience."
And Instagrammmable it is. We went along for a bio-gel manicure (£38.00) and a drink or two in the new salon.
