DJing Unabombers and restaurateurs, Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford (pictured), are inviting people to party in their secret passageway this August Bank Holiday weekend.

Manchester Pride is a one big party and we wanted to open up our amazing street with the same feeling of being inclusive not exclusive

The owners of the award-winning Volta in Didsbury are the newly appointed curators of The Refuge, a 'creative lobby, public bar and dining room space' set to open mid-September as part of The Palace Hotel’s multi-million pound renovation.

Building works have uncovered a seldom seen courtyard behind The Refuge, and to celebrate the uncovering The Unabombers are throwing a free two-day-long street party.

The 250-capacity 'Come As You Are' bash - hosted by flamboyant collective Cha Cha Boudoir - will take to the courtyard across Pride weekend (Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August) and feature a line-up of DJs including Ruf Dug, Krysko, Meat Free, Drunk At Vogue, Will Tramp, JonJo Jury and The Unabombers themselves.

Luke Cowdrey said: “Manchester Pride is a one big party and we wanted to open up our amazing street with the same feeling of being inclusive not exclusive, come as you are.

"We have partied in basements, boats, Victorian Mansions and now in our very own street. We all love undiscovered spaces and the street is pretty special.”

‘Come As You Are’ street party is from midday to 10pm on both days and is free entry, so just turn. The Refuge by Volta will open on 14 September 2016.
