AS the Crafty Exchange artisan fair takes over Corn Exchange from Sat 18 to Sun 19 May, it feels like the building is finding itself again.
Readers of a certain vintage will remember that Corn Exchange was once a haven for creative, alternative wares. Pre bomb, it was a counterpart to Afflecks Palace, the place to go for tie die clothing, piercing paraphernalia, indie-style jewellery, and cool-as-you-like records. Then the bomb happened and the space was spruced up and renamed The Triangle. But, there's nothing quite like getting back to your roots...
Having reclaimed its old name, Corn Exchange is ready to reclaim its old independent spirit. On the weekend of May 18-19, Crafty Exchange will take over Corn Exchange, filling it with stalls selling quirky hand made crafts, from gorgeous jewellery and offbeat home wares to fair trade candles and tailor made artworks. The weekend will also feature workshops and crafts demonstrations, and there will be plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or a drink in this relaxing, creative environment.

If you are a crafts person, you can get your creations seen by securing a stall at Crafty Exchange from just £30 a day. There are also opportunities to hold workshops or give demonstrations on your particular craft.

And if you just love collecting beautiful things, there are plenty of gorgeous, unique crafts to get your hands. Think hand made jams, cute cushions, delightful cupcakes, mosaic artworks, eye catching jewellery and more, all available in the unique Corn Exchange space. Just like the old days, but with a fresh reboot for the make-and-mend generation.
