THE life of hospitality kingpin Tim Bacon will be celebrated with a special open invitation memorial service on Monday 16 April (1pm) at Albert Hall, Peter Street.

Feel free to come along and remember him with us

The hugely popular 52-year-old chairman of Living Ventures – the Knutsford-based bar and restaurant group behind such Manchester institutions as The Alchemist, The Oast House and Australasia – sadly passed away on the evening of Friday 29 April following a long battle with cancer.

The company Bacon co-founded in the late-90s and spurred on to an annual turnover of over £85m have now set-up a fundraising page in his honour.

They ask that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a pledge in Bacon's memory can do so via the link, raising funds for The Christie, where Bacon was cared for over a number of years, and for The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where his beloved 11-year-old nephew Jett tragically lost his own battle with cancer just days after his uncle.

A spokesperson for Living Ventures, said: "Don't be sad, Tim loved and lived life. He created livelihoods and brought us all together with a great deal of happiness as one big family.

"Each one of us now walks taller for knowing him. Feel free to come along and remember him with us."

The memorial service will be held at Albert Hall, Peter Street, M2 5QR on Monday 16 May at 1pm.
