Get in the Christmas spirit at The Font Chorlton
YES, we know, it feels a way off yet, but here’s a promise: think about it now and you won’t have to stress about it later. What are we on about? Christmas, of course.
The Font guys over in Chorlton have been getting festive on your behalf, rustling up a fabulous menu especially for the season – with a tempting offer to match the tempting dishes. Get your table reserved between now and 15 November, and you’ll get an extra 10% off your total food bill – and as two courses of seasonal scran are just £20 per person, and three £25, we reckon this is a no-brainer. After all, who needs extra expense when that gift list keeps growing?

So what’s on the menu? Well, we’re eyeing up the potted beef cheeks served with sour dough croutes and horseradish butter for starters, followed by roast turkey crown with chestnut, sage and date stuffing, pigs in blankets and lashing of proper gravy for main. All the main courses come with all the trimmings – roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, sprouts with pancetta, and seasonal greens. Our eyes are always bigger than our stomachs, but right now we’re set on rounding off proceedings with one of The Font’s cheeseboards (£8 supplement) given a festive twist and perfect for sharing if we do get too full.
It being Chorlton and all, there’s plenty of vegan-friendly fayre, from roast parsnip and cardamom soup to start, then seasonally spiced mixed nut, date and apricot roast served with tender stem broccoli tossed in chilli and sesame plus veggie gravy. For afters? How about Christmas spiced rhubarb and pear crumble with malted coconut milk vegan ice cream?
Also on the menu are spinach, fig and ricotta fritters, served with festive chutney and perfect for vegetarians, plus roast hake with chorizo and Parmesan panko crumb and seafood bisque, and more sweet treats to choose from – sticky toffee pudding and vanilla custard or Lush Brownie with Ginger’s Comfort Emporium ice cream. Too much choice? We’re sure you’ll manage.
