Family - St Ann's and Manchester Cathedral Epiphany Procession - Sunday 6 January

You may have already had several personal New Year epiphanies, but none as traditional as the Christian feast on Sunday 6 January. In celebration, Manchester will be hosting the annual Epiphany procession from St Ann’s Church to Manchester Cathedral before entering the Cathedral ‘from the east’, as the wise men did, crowning the procession with a service of worship, remembrance and thanksgiving. Proceedings will start at 4pm outside St Ann's Church and everyone is very welcome to mark the end of the festive season.

Food - Chorlton Green Brasserie

There were problems in several areas of the cooking but for starters and pies, this new player on the Beech Road scene, takes some beating. Try the potted crab custard or the warm terrine for some delicious, robust, textured and well balanced food. The atmosphere is very pleasant in there as well and although its top of the range for price the Valencisco Reserva Rioja is a dream of powerhouse red wine. To read our review click here.
