Culture - 200th Manchester Luddite Celebration, People’s History Museum
It wouldn’t be a weekend without some sort of historical anniversary or celebration of Manchester’s past history. This weekend is the turn of the Luddites who burnt down mills, workshops and machinery in a struggle for working class rights in a time of greater mechanisation.

To mark the 1812 uprising the People’s History Museum will host an exhibition on the events on Sunday 18 November, featuring talks from respected local historians as well as poetry and music from One Accord. The event is free between 2-5pm and is suitable for children over the age of twelve.
