Want to know what's on in Manchester? Here's a list of things to do next month (that are actually worth doing)
Lunar New Year party
Non-profit group Voice are collaborating with Southeast Asian-owned gin distillers Tarsier Spirit for Lunar New Year on 8th February as part of their Asian cocktail takeover at Hudson Social. The bar, off King Street, will be celebrating the arrival of the auspicious Year of the Dragon and bring together Manchester’s amazing ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) community, as well as anyone else who observes this global festival. Starting from 7pm, there will be free finger food, quiz bingo with prizes, karaoke and music until late.
General admission is £7 + fees, but there are limited low wage tickets available.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes
In the wake of their new album Dark Rainbow, set to be released at the end of January, the band will embark on their biggest headline tour yet. Hear all the fan favourites like Kitty Sucker and Crowbar as well as some never-before-heard-live tracks from the new album.
Valentine's Mini Masterclass
This mini cocktail-making masterclass is as ideal for breaking the ice on a first date as it is for reigniting that spark. Designed for two guests (£15 per person), you'll choose a cocktail from the Chemistry & Theatre section of the menu to create and drink. Grab your significant other (or your bestie) and test your cocktail making skills.
With seven studio albums, Enter Shikari are a hit with elder emos and younger moshers alike. Expect to be taken on a journey of their discography, with old hits and new favourites to discover.
Valentine’s Steam Train Dinner
Enjoy a truly unique and memorable Valentine's celebration with a romantic four course dinner, a traditional steam train ride with scenic views (courtesy of the Irwell Valley), classical live music and more. Available for those aged 16 and over.
Supporting Mother Mother on their tour, Liverpool-born band Crawlers will be raising the roof of Victoria Warehouse. The band's efforts of honing their formidable live reputation has paid off over the past year, when everything stepped up a notch (or five) resulting in them wowing crowds at Glastonbury and Download last summer.
Elvis: Live from the Irwell
Enjoy a tribute to the King of Rock n' Roll with an evening of Elvis' greatest hits as you cruise along the River Irwell and Manchester Ship Canal. Upon boarding the Princess Katherine you'll receive a glass of Prosecco as well as light snacks at your table and table service throughout the night. Pick up from Salford Quays, just by the Lowry Theatre.
