THE LAWN CLUB has given the Spinningfields clubhouse a good going over.

It's longer, it's brighter and it's tastier.

Fluid Bars, operators behind the Dock Bar at MediaCityUK and The Lawn Club’s predecessors, InBloom and Hibernate, have scored a huge coup by securing one of the city's finest chefs.

David Gale, most recently the Executive Chef at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate, has been brought in to create a selection of light British-inspired small plates and sharing platters. Lovely they were too. Particularly the potted shrimp and crab on Melba toast.

So far we're a big fan of The Lawn Club. After weeks of banging about they've produced a very handsome bar indeed, and most crucially with the onslaught of the Spinningfields summer blitz, it can squeeze in a load more bodies.

According to Guinness, it's also now the world's largest whicker picnic hamper. Well done chaps.
