THE CAKE & Bake Show calls itself ‘the UK’s biggest experiential event dedicated to all things baking’.

The event is aimed at all ages with classes and demonstrations for those looking to improve baking and sugarcraft skills.

Whatever criteria they’ve used to assess this, the event is ‘proud to announce that a second edition of the show will take place at Manchester Central over three days, 5-7 April 2013’.

The first Cake & Bake Show was held at Earls Court last September and sold out four weeks before the event, attracting more than 21,000 visitors across two days.

According to the PR, “All the most popular star speakers from the London event – from Mary Berry to Tom Herbert to Claire Clark – will be returning to the show, with this year’s Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite (plus many of his fellow contestants from the series), heading up a brand new feature for Manchester – The Competition Theatre. The GBBO stars will be mentoring teams of competitors in a series of live bake offs, while the judges of ITV's new show Britain's Best Bakery, Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell, will also be hosting their own baking challenges in the purpose built competition tent.”

The event is aimed at all ages with classes and demonstrations for those looking to improve baking and sugarcraft skills. Stands will feature the latest equipment from bakeware to cake decorations, plus children’s activities.

Other new features for the Manchester show include the 'Cake Catwalk' – a fashionista-themed cake competition, ‘The Toppings Tables’ – where visitors will be able to decorate their own cakes or cookies, ‘Willy Wonka’s Wonderland' – looking at a gingerbread village, and ‘The Interview Stage’ for interviews with cake makers and bakers.

The organisers hope that ‘Baker Street’ will work for Real Bread enthusiasts. There’ll also be a marketplace featuring artisan produce with breads, scones, pies, brownies, pastries and of course, cakes than 2012.
