Confidentials chats to owners Edward and Anthony about Cheshire’s most exciting new venue
The Bowdon Rooms is already gaining quite a reputation as a place to go for events and entertainment. Confidentials finds out more about the historic venue and what owners Edward and Anthony have in store for The Bowdon Rooms’ next chapter.
The Bowdon Rooms has always been a place for good times since it was built as Bowdon’s Assembly Rooms in 1903. Tell us about The Bowdon Rooms of today. What changes have you made to The Bowdon Rooms to bring it up to date?
"We have undertaken a full upgrade to the entire building. It really has been taken back to its former glory in every sense, but with every modern facility to make for a better customer experience and we’ve installed a fully digital sound and lighting package."
And also, which bits of history remain?
"When we embarked on the upgrades, we wanted to highlight and enhance the original features. We are so happy with the results."
You’ve obviously both worked very hard. What does The Bowdon Rooms mean to you?
"We are both very passionate about this project and have a long-term vision for the venue. We see this as the perfect starting point now and cannot wait to embark on this project with world class events and incredible celebrations."
What does the future look like for The Bowdon Rooms?
"We feel the appetite for quality entertainment will be huge and this will undoubtedly have a very positive impact on the reopening and set the venue up to grow and become the real destination is deserves to be."
Do you have a favourite gig or event you’ve felt lucky to host at The Bowdon Rooms?
"It’s really tough to single out just one event. We have some of the world’s biggest stars, some of the most popular music acts and some of the most acclaimed shows here over the coming 18 months and beyond and truthfully, we are all super excited about them all."
Which concerts or shows should our readers be buying tickets for?
"The must-see shows for us start with Brian Blessed, Ranulph Fiennes and Lenny Henry. They are firsts for the region in venues of our capacity and tickets are selling very well. We can’t wait to put our dinner suits on and be entertained by some real British legends."
It’s clear that there’s a lot of passion in the project and as far as Confidentials is concerned, The Bowdon Rooms is already a top events destination.
