The Pen and Pencil is a Northern Quarter institution with cool cocktails and some of the best DJs in the city. It was one of the first to pioneer the monthly bottomless brunch craze back when eggs benny and endless beer was a pretty unique idea.
And now The Pen and Pencil has reached the grand old age of ten years old. It’s a milestone most bars don’t make it to - testament to its loyal fans and ability to change with the times. Back in September 2015, we were intrigued by this bold new opening and a decade later, it’s still one of Confidentials’ favourite places to hang out.
To mark the occasion, there’ll be an epic party on Saturday 27 September with ten hours of DJs and performances from Drag Race UK’s Banksie.
Everyone’s invited to this mega celebration which kicks off at 2pm. Get your dancing shoes on with a packed line-up of DJs including Banksie, Les Croasdaile, Mark Hogg, Danny Ward and A Deeper Groove.
There’ll be a special bottomless brunch on the day - something the Pen and Pencil is famed for - accompanied by limited edition cocktails. If you didn’t drink ‘em, you weren’t there. There’ll even be free pints of Red Stripe all round at 10pm.
Get in the party mood beforehand with free tequila shots at 10pm on Friday 26 September and vibes from DJs Gareth James and Nev Johnson.
It’s not just about the party. Reaching double figures has put The Pen and Pencil team in a generous mood. September is one big celebration with offers all month long.
Every Monday, it’s 50% off food. On Tuesdays, it’s happy hour all night long and double the prize money in birthday week. Wednesdays sees 2-for-£10 cocktails. Thursday is the day of the £10 burger. Friday is for happy hour and DJs. Saturdays are all about DJs and cocktails. Sundays mean two bloody marys for a tenner and ten dishes are just £10 each.
