From Parklife to Comic Con, we look back on our favourite street style photos of the year
There they go, the perfect stranger; sashaying through Manchester city centre looking fabulous in an outfit made for them. We just have to take their picture, they deserve to be in magazines…
And so began our ‘What I Wore MCR’ street style series. For the past few years, Body Confidential has been flagging down well dressed strangers and taking their pictures (risking being shun by said person in the process). Whether goth or glamorous, we look for the people who perfectly reflect our diverse, eclectic and colourful city.
From Parklife festival to Comic Con, we look back at our best street style photos of 2017.
Parklife festival 2017
Nipple stickers, short-shorts and um... Asian rice hats. While not quite California's Coachella fest, Parklife revellers went to town with the usual mix of eclectic, funky and glitter covered array of festival fashion.
Manchester street style
Hipsters, scenesters, fashionistas - there's more than one Manchester style. Throughout the year, we scouted unsuspecting people wandering Spinningfields, Deansgate and the Northern Quarter, to see if Mancunians can rival the likes of any major fashion city in the street style stakes.
Comic Con
What do you get when you cross Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow with a Storm Trooper? It could only be Manchester's annual comic convention - a weekend which allows your average Joe to transform themselves into superheroes, manga characters and Hollywood villains.
British Style Collective, Liverpool
After 27 years in Birmingham, The Clothes Show relocated to Liverpool in 2017. It was a weekend of fashion catwalks, shopping, designers and celebrities. The hundreds of guests, travelling in from across the UK, came dressed for the fashion weekender (some hopeful to be spotted by model scouts) in cool, casual wear.
Leeds Street Style
With thousands of students and plenty of charity and vintage stores, Leeds is a breeding ground for alternative style and fashions. This year, we took to West Yorkshire's cobbled streets to scout Leeds street style for the first time.
