Popular pasta spot revamps following months of uncertainty
Popular pasta spot SUD has rebranded as Rigatoni's following a year of uncertainty and upheaval.
The restaurant, with sites in Ancoats, Altrincham, Sale and Exhibition, has switched from its small plates offering to specialising in simply rigatoni.
This follows months of uncertainty surrounding the restaurant, starting with its renaming in February last year from Sugo Pasta following a legal challenge by a Glasgow restaurant with the same name.
Whether it’s a quick lunch on a Tuesday or a Saturday night with mates, we hope RIGATONI’S will be somewhere you can proudly revisit time and time again.
Back in late November the restaurant announced on its Instagram page that more change was ahead as it would be serving its final dishes as SUD on New Year's Eve.
It read: "Our final menu serves as a tribute to some of the cult dishes we've all loved over the last 8 years. So while SUD will be resigned to the history books on 31.12.23 what's coming next is back to our roots of being a pasta kitchen for the PASTA KITCHEN for the PEOPLE.
"Whether you're a student or lawyer, 16 or 95, we will be open to EVERYONE, accessible and affordable. Most importantly, everything on the menu will be bangin' and brand new! Same team, same locations."
This month will see staggered openings of each site, starting with Ancoats and Exhibition on 6th January, Altrincham on the 9th and Sale on the 10th. Deliveroo and takeaway will then be available from the 16th.
Rigatoni's posted on Instagram in late December giving customers an idea of what to expect.
It read: "Launching this January.
"Our house-made rigatoni is the star of the show and will be extruded fresh daily at each site through a bronze die, which will give the pasta a rough texture that the sauces will cling to ‘asciutta’ style.
"Whether it’s a quick lunch on a Tuesday or a Saturday night with mates, we hope RIGATONI’S will be somewhere you can proudly revisit time and time again.
"With hearty bowls of pasta ranging from £7.50 to £13.50, we’re excited to bring pasta to the masses.
"Bookings, opening dates & menu drop are all coming very soon."
Here's to hoping that Rigatoni's enjoys a more stable year than the 2023 that befell SUD Pasta.
