Vibrant, authentic, Indian breakfasts

The new breakfasts served at Lily’s every Sunday are a sight to behold. Plates are a riot of colour with tantalizing aromas everywhere.

The menu changes weekly but an example is the idli sambar, a breakfast staple. (Actually, an anytime staple.) The light rice cakes are served with a richly-flavoured lentil soup and a coconut chutney – it’s a classic for connoisseurs of Indian cooking.

Other typical dishes to be found at Lily’s breakfast feast are: bhaji (a dry potato curry); puri (small round pieces of fried bread); Sambharo (lightly-cooked shredded cabbage and carrot); dhokra (a moreish spiced steamed snack);; jalebi (an Indian sweet made to accompany a typical breakfast in Gujurat).

 That’s quite a plateful.

And it’s all served with masala tea or coffee.

It’s a cornucopia of beautiful vegetarian food – much of it vegan – and it’s just £6.99 per person. Full on flavour from 9am – Sundays. It’s what weekends are all about. Booking required.

Please note, these are individual servings, this is not a buffet or a sharing breakfast.
