ST Ann’s Church is launching a monthly series of twelve professional evening concerts. The first of the ‘Tuesday Series’ will take place on Tuesday 12 March and will feature music for harps.
The opening concert at the 300-year-old church will feature two fine harp players: Elfair Dyer and Angelina Warburton. Both are recent graduates from the Royal Northern College of Music and have performed at notable venues (including the Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Royal Opera House) as solo, duo and orchestral harpists.
The highlights of the evening will be the ‘Suite for Harp’ by Benjamin Britten (2013 being his centenary year) and Paul Hindemith’s 1939 ‘Sonata for Harp’. The concert will also feature a number of lighter items and duets.
The concert will begin at 7.30pm (doors opening at 7pm) and tickets are priced at £6.50 with concessions available at £5.50 and a special student and pupils ticket available for £3. A season ticket is also available.
