THREE high-profile sporting events across Manchester will cause disruptions and delays later this week.
The BT Great City Games (Sat 17 May), the Bupa Great Manchester Run (Sun 18 May) and The Super League Magic Weekend (Sat 17 – Sun 18 May) all come to the city this weekend.
Saturday 17 May sees athletes take to Deansgate to compete in a number of running events at the BT Great City Games.
To allow the track to be constructed, Deansgate will close in both directions from the junction of Quay Street and Peter Street to the junction of John Dalton Street and Bridge Street from 5am on Wednesday 14 May until 5pm on Sunday 18 May 2014.
Sunday 18 May welcomes the Bupa Great Manchester Run to the city centre, starting from Portland Street on the junction with Oxford Street and finishing on Deansgate by Beetham Tower (all road closures and diversions for this event here).
The Etihad Stadium will also host The Super League Magic Weekend on Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 May. On Saturday, four consecutive rugby matches will be played at the stadium from 12.30pm to 9pm, with another three matches from 12.30pm to 6.30pm on Sunday 18 May.
