WHAT better way to celebrate Chinese New Year Of The Dog than with a pop-up pug (and pug cross) party in honour of China’s oldest breed? Head to the Northern Quarter’s canine-friendly The Pen And Pencil on Sunday 4 March for a special shindig from the takeover that everyone’s talking about: Pug Cafe.
Pug Cafe is the perfect place to meet a whole grumble of pugs (really!) and has taken the UK by storm in the last seven months, going walkies to Birmingham, Brighton, Liverpool, London, Nottingham and beyond.
At Pug Cafe, your curly-tailed best friend will make lots of new pooch pals, tuck into some delicious doggy treats and get treated like royalty – just like the prized pet pugs of the Emperors of China, who lived in the lap of luxury!
There will be a whole dog-dedicated menu brimming with tasty but completely natural snacks – pupcakes, dognuts, Pug Cafe cookies – plus free Puguccinos and The Pen And Pencil’s signature dishes and Oriental-inspired cocktails for the owners.
The Pen And Pencil will transform into the Pug Cafe between 10am and 6.30pm on 4 March, with eight 70-minute time slots to choose from when you book. Booking opens on Saturday 10 February at 11am, and booking fees apply. Bookings are strictly in advance by email – get your paws on a slot here.
