The cosy lounge features a vinyl listening wall and inventive new cocktail menu
Side Street, Manchester’s easy-going 70s-style city centre bar, has just unveiled a cosy new concept. ‘Side Space’ features a vinyl listening wall, plush interiors, and an inventive new cocktail menu inspired by renowned classics.
The relaunched space brings a laid-back 70s house party vibe to St. John’s, complete with velvet furniture, low lighting and a record player where guests can bring their own vinyls to spin on Wednesday evenings (6-9pm). The space is open Wednesday to Saturday nights, with curated vinyl evenings launching later this year, and is also available for private hire all week.
On Fridays, Good Custard DJs will take over the venue with their ‘Side Street Lates’ session; a rotating line-up of DJs spinning funk, disco, house and dance between 8pm and 3am.
13 new cocktails have been added to the menu, covering everything from timeless staples like The Sazerac, made with rye, cognac and apricot soda, to modern creations like The Penicillin which combines mezcal with pear and ginger for a smoky, warming twist.
To celebrate the launch, Side Street is introducing two new happy hours. From Tuesday to Friday, 5-7pm, guests can enjoy margaritas, French 75s and Aperol Spritz for just £7, and from midnight to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, the late-night crowd can tap into the 'if you know, you know' happy hour with £7 espresso martinis.
