SAN CARLO is on the move into the 'burbs.
San Carlo in that neck of the woods is a comically good fit.
The group already has a restaurant on the outskirts of Leeds, but their new suburban place will reside in that paragon of leafy Middle England, Hale Barns. There is nowhere in the country more 'burby than Hale Barns. Nowhere.
The name of the new place will be San Carlo Fiorentina.
The restaurant will occupy the site of Players close to the M56 motorway junction on the main road to Wilmslow. Players formerly the Four Seasons has been the spiritual home of the Cheshire Set for many years. San Carlo will reinforce that characteristic.
The new restaurant will bring the number of UK operations in the group to 13, led by the hugely popular San Carlo and San Carlo Cicchetti on Manchester’s King Street West.
Closed for kitchen modifications, the restaurant, will re-open on Monday 20 January. The modifications will include a Robata grill. This will allow chefs to cook prime cuts of meat, such as aged beef over wood-fired open flames. San Carlo’s signature menu of seafood and fish dishes, meat, pasta and pizzas will feature in the new restaurant.
San Carlo Group managing director, Marcello Distefano said: “We’re really excited to be opening our second suburban restaurant and our first in Cheshire. Many of our loyal customers, who visit San Carlo Manchester regularly, live within the Hale, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge area and we think it will be a great fit for us. We look forward to welcoming lots of familiar and hopefully new faces, soon.”
Distefano is right.
San Carlo in that neck of the woods is a comically good fit. Expect the place to be packed from day one. Dress up, see and be seen.
San Carlo Fiorentina will open from noon until late seven days a week. For more about San Carlo Group visit www.sancarlo.co.uk
