Take a time machine back to the 90s for some retro tipples
Head stateside and revive the 90s with some early evening cocktail action. If Trump’s America leaves you queasy, bring back Bill Clinton and bring back the decade that is having something of a revival. In fact, just leave the politics to one side and indulge in a trip down memory lane with drinks inspired by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Kenan and Kel and Clueless.
The cocktails may be inspired by the 90s but as you’ll find out at Rosso, cocktail-making has moved on a lot since then. Forget sticky carpets and dodgy White Russians, these drinks are pure class.
Prices have moved back to the 90s too. Rosso’s new 5 at 5 menu means between 5pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday, you can enjoy one of five specially-created cocktails for just £5.
Take a look at this lovely line-up:
Cherry Jolly Rancher-infused Tanqueray gin – Solerno liqueur – Watermelon – Lemon
Rolling down the street, down to Rosso, laid back with this modern take on an Aviation cocktail. So good, you won’t even need money or your mind. Snoop would be proud.
Rosso Loves Orange ‘Soda’
Ketel One Citroen Vodka – Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto liqueur – Mandarin – Blood Orange – Prosecco
Well, actually, Rosso loves Bellinis more. All things orange and sparkling in this Bellini-inspired tipple would have Kel crying out for more.
Amaretto Lazzaroni – Bulleit Bourbon – Lemon – Banana ice cream
Iconic scene, iconic taste. We can’t promise you’ll be dancing like John and Uma but this will help you try.
Another Dquiri…As If?!
El Dorado 3yo White Rum – Briottet Rhubarb Liqueur – Bubblegum – Lime – Champagne
As if?! It’s like a Daiquiri that’s like, not a Daiquiri but, like, whatever, because it tastes good.
Bulleit Bourbon – Mr. Black’s Cold Press Coffee Liqueur – Walnut – Caramel – Espresso
Could this be more Manhattan? What would have happened if the gang had actually slipped some liquor into their espressos? “Gunther, we’ll have two.”
Rosso have got #5 on it. Isn’t it time you did too?
