MULTI-PLATINUM selling band, Texas, are the first headline act to be announced for Manchester Pride's Big Weekend in August.

Fronted by Sharleen Spiteri, the Glaswegian band will be performing at the award-winning four-day festival running from Friday 28 to Monday 31 August in the heart of Manchester’s Gay Village.
2015's festival will see Manchester Pride mark the 25th anniversary of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) celebrations in Manchester.
Other festival highlights include the the vibrant Manchester Pride Parade, an integral part of the annual event, which will take place on Saturday 29 August.
Chief Executive of Manchester Pride, Mark Fletcher, said: “2015 marks the 25th anniversary of events celebrating LGBT life in Manchester across the August Bank Holiday weekend. It’s an incredibly special year and the Manchester Pride year-round events calendar will reflect this important anniversary.
"We look forward to welcoming thousands of people to the City over the Big Weekend as we continue with our fundraising aims to raise as much as possible for the various organisations that we support.”
