This year’s celebration of veggie food takes place from Monday 15 May – Sunday 21 May.
Last year, diners swapped lamb for lentils and chicken for chickpeas, saving over 100 tons of carbon in the process. Over 70,000 meaty meals were replaced by veg power – that’s the same amount of carbon emissions as driving a car round the equator more than 16 times.
Do your bit to reduce your carbon footprint one step at a time with a meal at Lily’s where it’s Vegetarian Week every week. There’s nowhere better to find meat-free inspiration than Lily’s Vegetarian. Come to our restaurant in Ashton-under-Lyne and see for yourself.
We’re the experts at meat-free cooking and we have the awards to prove it. All our dishes are vegetarian. Always have been, always will be. So we know just how to pack our menu with flavour, pulses, vegetables and spice.
Gujarati samosas, stuffed full of potatoes, peas, carrots and spices, or curries like channa palak with its glorious mix of chickpeas and spinach are all part of the Lily’s offering. From fully-vegan dishes like our popular masala chips or bhel puri to vegetarian favourites like our cheesy masala dosa or our Lily’s signature sizzler with paneer, vegetable manchurian and cassava, this is feel-good Indian cooking. You won’t miss the meat at all.
And if a meal at Lily’s inspires you to cook your own vegetarian masterpieces for National Vegetarian Week, call in to Lily’s Deli in Chorlton or Ancoats for all your store cupboard essentials. You’ll find an enormous range of chutneys, pickles and sauces as well as freshly-made rotis, savouries and our special Indian sweets.
