The Cat and Lion in the village of Stretton is the perfect weekend getaway. After all, it was once a seventeenth century coaching inn so plenty of travellers have enjoyed its hospitality.
These days The Cat and Lion mixes that sense of history with a modern sensibility. We’ve refurbished the building to make the most of original features like wooden beams and a hay hatch door as well adding contemporary touches like a heated beer garden and free wi-fi.
With cosy nooks, a small snug and plenty of dog friendly areas, The Cat and Lion is the perfect country retreat. Get away from it all with bracing walks and a beer to relax with afterwards.
Being a Holt’s pub, you’ll always find a great selection of our beers on draught with award-winning lagers, cask ales and modern craft styles all available behind the bar alongside gins, rums and other spirits.
No overnight stay is complete without dinner at The Cat and Lion in our airy dining room. You’ll find starters and sharers, pub classics, pizzas fresh from our own pizza oven and some tempting desserts too. The fish and chips and the Steak and Joseph Holt’s Ale pie are two of our most popular dishes.
