Joseph Holt Beer Range

Whatever you fancy, we have a beer to quench your thirst.

From traditional cask ales to drinks with more modern profiles, every beer we make is brewed with the Joseph Holt dedication to craft and quality.

Check out our full range.

Cask

Chorlton Pale Ale

Fresh and fruity, Chorlton Pale Ale is a signature blonde beer first brewed overlooking Chorlton’s tree-lined village green. Bright, crisp and with zesty notes zinging through, this is a highly sessionable ale served from the cask at 4.0% ABV.

Brewed with American and New Zealand hops, you’ll notice a quirky twang of bitterness and grassy hops that develop into a long, dry finish. Chock-a-block with character, Chorlton Pale Ale is the independent’s favourite.

Joseph Holt Bitter

Deep clear amber. Full white head. Big bitterness. The original Holt’s Bitter is what we’re built on. A true icon, English beer and Manchester Bitter.

Much like our northern roots, this cask bitter is full of character with light caramel and malty notes that develop into a solid base with punchy, earthy hops. Biting bitterness from the carefully selected English hops is balanced out by the best English pale ale malt and a gentle carbonation to leave a silky-smooth finish.

Quenchingly good, this is a proper bitter beer.

Joseph Holt IPA

You won’t find any nonsense here; our IPA is a proper IPA. And in cask too, the way it should be.

Standing for India Pale Ale, the Joseph Holt IPA is brewed with pale malts which makes for a light, very pale beer. It also packs some very punchy hop flavours thanks to our use of whole leaf aroma hops, lending this sessionable beer a citrussy aroma and fresh taste.

Distinctively Holts, this IPA pays tribute to the traditional way.

Mild

Rich, roasted and creamy, our Mild is an unpretentious ale that has traversed time and is still going strong. It may be on the beer endangered list, but Joseph Holt is still well and truly flying the Mild flag. And for good reason.

Dark in colour and silky smooth in texture, this famous northern drink offers a full and roasted flavour. With an unassuming low 3.2% ABV our dark Mild packs plenty of flavour thanks to the use of black and crystal malts with English cone hops, giving a good amount of bitterness alongside a drop of sweetness with caramel and slight coffee notes – it’s no wonder it was so popular with miners after a hard day’s graft.

Set your sights on this rare brew.

Two Hoots

Light, refreshing and beautifully balanced, Two Hoots is a golden ale savoured and favoured by the wise. At 4.2% ABV, it’s an easy-drinking beer suitable for a session in the pub.

Two Hoots is brewed with pale ale and lager malts with a generous helping of cascade whole hops, a favourite of the craft breweries in the US. The result sweeps you in to an invigorating, bright ale with a citrusy aroma and delicate fruit characteristics. Smooth on the palate, this ale won’t be ruffling any feathers.

A great golden beer that brings great wisdom all year round.

Keg

Northern Hop has a lightly carbonated body making it, in our centuries’ old wisdom, a top selection for both real ale and lager drinkers. Take a hop up north and see what you think.
