PRESTON has gained a new halal dining spot with the opening of MUMU Steakhouse & Grill this week. It's the latest venture from Adam Karim, director of Manchester’s award-winning Italian restaurant Don Giovanni.
American diner-style flavours feature prominently.
MUMU is a fresh venture that takes Karim back to his roots, growing up in his father's restaurant, the infamous Karim’s in Middleton.
MUMU is a sleek 100-cover steakhouse showcasing a standout menu based around entirely halal ingredients from certified British butchers and farmers.
Staffed with chefs from some of the best steakhouses in the US, MUMU offers chargrilled British Halal steaks alongside smoked and marinated cuts of lean British lamb, chicken and Scottish salmon.
American diner-style flavours feature prominently with options including low-n-slow grilled sticky Buffalo BBQ ribs, house signature beef and chicken burgers, crispy skin-on chicken, corn on the cob, stacked fries and a variety of grilled wings.
Sides include grilled or battered tiger prawns, deep fried onion or calamari rings, buttered mash, and sweet potato fries.
British classics such as ‘proper’ fish & chips, Shepherd’s pie and truffle mac’n’cheese also feature on the menu.
Situated in Preston’s residential London Road area, which is ten minutes walk from the city centre, the restaurant offers a family-friendly halal dining experience for all ages.
Its newly-fitted modern interior boasts a gleaming kitchen with large grills, creating a sensory atmosphere where diners can see and smell their food as it is cooked.
MUMU’s unlicensed bar will serve mocktails and milkshakes. All desserts are home made and include waffles and pancake stacks with fruit, chocolate and syrup.
