It's possibly the only pub quiz with a MySpace profile and its own merchandise line – and it's just got a new home.
Elliot Eastwick's World Famous Pub Quiz has shifted its base to the new Black Dog Ballroom NWS, on New Wakefield Street, just off Oxford Road.
The quiz will be held every Wednesday at 8pm on the roof terrace. The barbecue will be fired up for the evening so you can tuck into a burger or kebab while you're quizzing. And the rooftop bar means you don't need to trek downstairs to get the drinks in.
With a different theme each week, EEWFPQ is a bonanza of film, music and popular culture facts and figures. If you're smart enough, you can win booze, food and pound shop prizes.
Past quizzes have seen running races up and down Oldham Street, women's arm wrestling, and gargling Take That songs with 30-year-old whiskey. Elliot Eastwick has quizzed backstage at Glastonbury for Coldplay and the Gallagher brothers, and live on T4 with Vernon Kaye and Romeo.
If you've never experienced it before, go with an open mind. In Mr Eastwick's own words, 'It's basically a night of being insulted by a bald Manc and getting drunk.' We're in.
