TWO new monthly markets are set to launch in Spinningfields this summer.
Spinningfields Finders Keepers will have more of a flea market feel to it
The two markets will take up residency in separate locations on the estate, with the Makers Market launching on The Avenue on Saturday 20 June, and the Finders Keepers flea market taking place on Hardman Boulevard on Sunday 21 June.
The Makers Market, which is renowned for its events throughout the North West, will offer a combination of food & drink, arts and crafts producers and artisans as well as music, performances, cookery demonstrations and activities for children. While the Spinningfields Finders Keepers will have more of a flea market feel to it, and will showcase vintage clothing and accessories, furniture and finer collectibles, kitchenware, decorative items and unusual and quirky pieces.
Victoria Jackson event manager for the Spinningfields Makers Market, said: “Our aim is to create a monthly event at Spinningfields, that is enjoyable and a must in the diary, consequently bringing the community together, helping to create a sense of place and increasing footfall for the local businesses.”
For the launch weekend, the Lego Walk will also be available for visitors to try, with all money raised going to Christies. The walk, which encourages people to kick off their shoes and see if they can complete the intrepid walk over a lego pathway, will be open from 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Andrea George, Commercial Director for Allied London, said: “Spinningfields has become the must visit destination in the city centre, whether it’s for a bite to eat in the restaurants, a drink in the sun or to do some shopping and we’re delighted to be able to launch a monthly market, which will create a vibe all of its own, there will be something for everyone."
