Roc & Rye has called it a day on Spring Gardens
Oh dear. Just hours after Confidential reported on the closure of FIKA, we hear that another city centre bar has bitten the dust.
Roc & Rye, which billed itself on social media as 'Manchester's sassiest cocktail bar', opened on the ground floor of 60 Spring Gardens, at the top end of King Street, in July 2017.
Launched by couple Matt Bonner and Maritza Haydon, the bar featured plush turquoise leather upholstery, spherical golden chandeliers and a gilded bar.
A new approach - presumably a move to entice the Insta-crowd - saw the bar remodelled on Miami's 'vibrant and colourful nightlife' with bright pink interiors, neon lights and selfie 'vibes'.
It would appear that didn't work either. On the 29th March the bar posted on Facebook: 'so close to just fucking everything off and going on a three day bender'.
Perhaps they just never came back...
