The event will see a brand new revival this autumn
After a decade-long absence, Manchester Fashion Week will return this September with a bold blueprint for the future of fashion.
The revival comes at a pivotal moment when the city’s £12bn fashion industry faces unprecedented challenges around sustainability, technology and cultural relevance.
Running from 9 to 11 September and centred around the St. John’s area (with an official hub at Campfield), Manchester Fashion Week will unite emerging designers and established brands on a platform that combines Manchester’s industrial heritage with cutting-edge innovation.
Each day of the three-day event will have its own theming around important topics; Heritage & Future-Proof, Health & Wellness and Tech & Innovation, merging fashion with conscious innovation.
Manchester is fast becoming the culture capital of England, with many big brands choosing to host their events in the city like Chanel with its Metiers D'Art show in 2023, MTV’s European Music Awards (EMAs) in 2024, and even the BRIT Awards which will be hosted in the city early next year - the first time ever that the awards ceremony has taken place outside of London in its 48-year history.
Supported by media partner Eco Age, Manchester Fashion Week 2025 will trace a path from historic Mancunian mills to contemporary catwalks, honouring textile traditions while looking forward towards the future of fashion.
The event will be spearheaded by a panel of the fashion industry’s most renowned thought-leaders, including Carry Somers, Founder of global movement Fashion Revolution, and award-winning social entrepreneur and founder of People Tree, Safia Minney MBE.
Gemma Gratton, Executive Producer of Manchester Fashion Week, said: "Manchester has always led – in music, in manufacturing, in movements. And now, it's time to lead again by future-proofing fashion from the ground up.
"Manchester Fashion Week is not just a celebration of style, but a cultural catalyst for people, purpose, and progress."
John Higginson, CEO of Eco Age, said: “Manchester is Britain’s fashion mecca. Where else do you go where everyone walks around as if they are always on a catwalk? But there is a fight between crappy flimsy fast fashion and the beautiful things you want to keep forever. Manchester Fashion Week is all about future fashion – forever fashion.
Manchester Fashion Week will serve as a platform for honest dialogue, visionary thinking, and radical collaboration, activating spaces across the city and inviting brands, creators, and communities to participate.
"This isn't just Manchester's moment. It's Manchester fashion's reset. And it starts here – right from the root," the organisers emphasized.
