SUNDAY 2 June will see the return of The Manchester Day Parade, showering the city centre with an explosion of colour and music.

Now in its fourth year, it has become one of the city’s biggest events, attracting more than 50,000 spectators.

The fun, free, family day out is an annual event that revels in everything that’s great about our city. Residents and visitors alike can get together and celebrate all things Mancunian.

This year’s theme is Wish You Were Here. Expect to see an array of giant characters and vibrant costumes, all accompanied by a cacophony of sound. The creative designs will be inspired by all sorts of ideas, but each based on a celebration of place and identity.

Up to 2,000 people representing some eighty community groups, charities and volunteer groups work with some of the North West’s most talented artists to create the parade.

Now in its fourth year, it has become one of the city’s biggest events, attracting more than 50,000 spectators.

Last year over 45,000 people enjoyed the sunshine and watched the parade as it snaked its way through the city centre. Watch the city come alive for the parade once again or, get involved and show what Manchester means to you.
