IF rumours are to be believed, Manchester is to be the next victim in the rise of reality TV with its own version of TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, Geordie Shore, Desperate Scousewives and the like.
'They want to show Manchester at its best, with only the most glamorous bars, restaurants and nightclubs featured. They only want gorgeous, well-connected people with great stories to tell.'
The not very originally titled Made In Manchester is, according to The People, going to be 'classy, like a Mancunian version of Sex And The City. They want to show Manchester at its best, with only the most glamorous bars, restaurants and nightclubs featured. They only want gorgeous, well-connected people with great stories to tell. Anyone boring won't make the cut.'
The supposed cast is rumoured to include Coronation Street’s Brooke Vincent, Waterloo Road’s Chelsee Healey and local fashion designer Nadine Merabi. However, having spoken to Nadine Merabi, Confidential can confirm that the rumour mill has indeed gone into overdrive with this one. Thank goodness.
She said: "It’s not true. There is something being discussed at the moment but it's not Made In Manchester and nothing has been finalised or agreed yet. Chelsee read the rumours in the paper just like everyone else and rang me to ask me what it was all about. She did say she would love to do it though if it were real."
Laine Management, the Manchester-based TV, film and theatre casting agency representing both Brooke Vincent and Chelsee Healey also said they had not heard anything whatsoever about the actresses starring in a show called Made In Manchester.
And finally, Monkey Kingdom, the production team behind Made In Chelsea who are, according to The People, 'in pre-production' for Made In Manchester, also denied the rumour. When asked if they are involved in a new TV series based in Manchester, a spokesperson confirmed, point blank: "We are not."
Let’s hope that’s the end of that then.
