CONFIDENTIAL PROMOTION
SPANISH food in Manchester is on the up and with the arrival of Liverpool’s Lunya, there’s never been a better time to sample the delights of Catalonia.
The £1 million investment will cater for more than 200 diners
Lunya is a real labour of love for owners Peter and Elaine Kinsella who make regular trips to Spain to meet suppliers and seek out new delights to add to their increasing range of artisan Spanish products.
This dedication to sourcing the very best ingredients has seen Lunya lauded in Liverpool for both their excellent deli and their relaxed, convivial restaurant with its varied menu and authentic flavours. Now, they’re expanding their operation and opening in the iconic Barton Arcade on Deansgate.
The £1 million investment will cater for more than 200 diners and include an exclusive outdoor seating area on both the ground floor and the first floor of the beautiful Victorian arcade. A sensitive restoration combines the period charm of the Barton Arcade with beautiful tiles and Spanish features to create an atmosphere that is both Barcelona and Manchester.
The first floor will house the main dining area and an open kitchen whilst downstairs, there will be a large deli where you can shop for ingredients to take a taste of Lunya home with you.
The deli will stock a huge range of Catalan and Spanish food and drink with three hams carved off the bone, 40 artisan Spanish cheeses and more than 1,000 other unique Spanish ingredients. Also on the ground floor will be an intimate bar area where people can enjoy coffees, tapas pre-theatre snacks throughout the day.
Executive chef and co-owner of Lunya, Peter Kinsella, can’t wait to open: “We are delighted to be moving into Manchester. We are confident this will be a real go-to destination for Hispanophiles and foodies right across the North West.”
