Wine plus Kylie at Velvet? This is the one.
If you’re a Kylie Minogue fan and you like wine, then this one is especially for you.
Velvet Hotel Bar and Brasserie on Canal Street in The Village is hosting a tasting of Kylie Minogue’s wine range alongside matched dishes.
Brand ambassador Madeleine St Clair will be pouring six of the wines from the range
In 2020, while we all nursed sourdough starters, forgot what a healthy routine looked like and completed Netflix, Kylie founded a wine brand. Kylie Wines was launched in collaboration with Benchmark Drinks who also look after wine brands for fellow popstar Gary Barlow and sweary chef Gordon Ramsay.
Like pretty much everything Kylie does, it was hugely successful with her Prosecco rosé in its characteristic heart-embossed bottle becoming the number one branded Prosecco in the UK in 2021. Another number one hit to add to the collection then, good for you Kylie.

Kylie obviously does know where the wild rosés grow as her range of nine wines includes three other rosés in addition to the Prosecco. There’s also a Cava, a Pinot Noir, a Merlot, a Chardonnay and Savvy B from various worldwide wine regions, something for everyone then.
Following a successful tasting on this ilk last year, Velvet’s 2022 Kylie Wine event takes place on Saturday 12 November and brand ambassador Madeleine St Clair will be pouring six of the wines from the range. Prepare to be spinning your wine glass around to get those all-important flavours on the nose while enjoying paired dishes prepared by Velvet’s Brasserie in collaboration with upmarket Indian restaurant Asha’s.
Dishes will include pork belly with hoisin sauce, salmon tartare, 28-day-aged medium-rare ribeye steak with green peppercorn sauce and mashed potato, and paneer ka soola, shashlik of Indian cottage cheese, mixed peppers, cumin and garam masala.

The lineup for the night is:
Kylie Minogue Organic Brut Reserva Cava NV, a crisp, dry cava with aromas of fresh green apple and orchard blossom.
Kylie Minogue Côtes de Provence Rosé 2020, a pale pink rosé with aromas of fresh summer berries.
Kylie Minogue Margaret River Chardonnay 2019, with medium-weight, and layers of fruit flavours that range from fresh peach to ripe pear and citrus zes.t
Kylie Minogue 2019 Pinot Noir Yarra Valley, which has aromas of cherry, tobacco-leaf and truffle
Kylie Minogue Côtes de Provence Cru Classé Côtes de Provence Rosé, with aromas of pink grapefruit, watermelon and lemon blossom.
and Kylie Minogue Prosecco Rosé NV, a sparkling rosé with crisp, fresh notes of strawberries, raspberries and blossom.
The Kylie Wine tasting is on Saturday 12 November from Tickets can be purchased in advance for £49.10 and include a welcome drink plus guided wine tasting with paired dishes.
