MANCHESTER Confidential toasted The Restaurant Bar & Grill’s luxurious, new terrace with fifty Heroes and their friends at a drinks party last Wednesday.

The heaters were so warm, we asked for them to be turned down instead

The Terrace has been designed for weatherproof dining and drinking, day or night, rain or shine, and the Heroes loved the space.

The décor out there was more like a five star hotel than a bar terrace, and the temperature was kept toasty so we didn't have to wrap up in hats, gloves or even coats. Staff provided blankets in case anyone was feeling the chill. But the heaters were so warm, we asked for them to be turned down instead.

Everyone was greeted with flutes of prosecco on arrival. Those who didn't fancy the fizz were offered beer or wine or one of The Restaurant Bar & Grill’s award-winning cocktails.

Jonathan Schofield, editor of Manchester Confidential, thanked everyone for coming, though it wasn't exactly a hardship. Free-flowing prosecco and beautiful canapés in one of the nicest spots in town. Where would you rather be?

We also got an early taste of Christmas drinking at The Restaurant Bar & Grill. The team brought out spiced mulled wine – which everyone was raving about – and shots of eggnog.

The scrumptious selection of canapés included delectables such as smoked salmon blinis, tandoori chicken, parmesan crisp baskets filled with cream cheese, and foie gras blinis. Then came the dessert canapés...delicious.

If you're hosting a drinks do, we can recommend this place. It seems to get everything right, from the superb service to the delightful nibbles to the memorable space.

There was a great atmosphere all night, and we got lots of great feedback from happy, blurry-eyed Heroes the next day.
