HEROES – any plans for next Tuesday after work? Glittering city-centre bar Epernay is putting on one of their decadent champagne evenings for fifteen Heroes and their plus-ones. It's an opportunity to sip your way through flutes of the finest champagne while learning about the contrasts between different bottles from their expert team, and it's free.
You'll learn:
- The basics about champagne – including the best low cal option.
- Nuggets of champagne trivia – like why the Veuve label is the colour it is, the role champagne has played with past prime ministers, and its connection to the Titanic.
- Which champagne suits your palate best.
- About the history, blending, ageing and dosage of champagne.
- About the contrasting wines the Champagne region offers.
The evening includes three champagne tasters, and nibbles including bread and oils and olives. You also get 20 per cent off any further drinks you buy on the night. The session lasts for one and a half hours.
It takes place at Epernay in the Great Northern Tower, Watson Street, in Manchester City Centre on Tuesday 28 February from 6pm.
