FAVOURITE steakhouse for many in Manchester, the Blackhouse Grill On New York Street has just had a facelift – they opened their doors again in June but if you haven’t had chance to see it yet, we’ve checked it out so we could give you a sneak peek.

Gone are the dark ceilings and black-and-white mural photos of the Manhattan skyline, so it feels more spacious and airy. There’s plenty of exposed brickwork, a classy red-and-black colour scheme, and lots of luxe leather seating. There are booths – single for couples and double for bigger groups – where you can get a bit of privacy and relax to the max. Meanwhile, if you’d rather see and be seen, the red leather stools at the bar are perfect – and great for trying out the new cocktail menu.
