PLAYTIME only for the kiddywinks?

What's more, they've only gone and added a bar... Eeeeeeeeeee

...we say balls to that.

As part of Manchester Science Festival Festival (check out our highlights here), creative design agency Pearlfisher will drop 81,000 pearly white balls into Manchester's Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) for the duration of the festival from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November.

Direct from a sell-out run in London via NYC, the 18+ interactive installation is intended to inspire creativity and calm through play... but, of course, is mostly about dicking about.

As well as freeform ballin', the MOSI will also play host to a roster of parties and events in the pool throughout the festival:

Who better to get the ball rolling than the legendary Cha Cha Boudoir? Drunk At Vogue DJ Greg Thorpe, Cheddar Gawjus and Anna Phylactic will kick off proceedings on 23 October, with a one-off bootylicious Ball Pool Ball special.

Science buffs who’ve outgrown the classroom can anticipate puzzles, prizes and experiments on 30 October (7pm - 9.30pm) at the After School Science Club.

Halloween will see the Underachievers Please Try Harder cult club night return after a two-year abscence, promising a frivolous night packed with alt-indie dance floor favourites and one or two ball pool belly-flops on 31 October.

On 1 November (2pm-4pm) the 'Manchester Girl Geeks Tea Party' will join the melee, where attendees 'can talk for 10-20mins on a science, technology or engineering subject of their choice'... or don't talk, sit-back and chuck balls at the nerds out front.

What's more, they've only gone and added a bar...

Eeeeeeeeeee.
