FOUR of the UK's top chefs joined forces for an exclusive Michelin-starred dining experience at The Whitworth Art Gallery yesterday evening.

Held in the award-winning gallery's enchanting glass-fronted café, the Art and Wine Masterpiece charity banquet invited guests to dine and bid on high collectibles, including originals by local artists such as STEWIE, in aid of Action For Hunger's continued work to end child poverty.

For the four-course feast, chef Robert Ortiz, of starred Peruvian restaurant Lima London, served up a sea bass cervice to start; Stosie Masie, chef of acclaimed Parkers Arms, worked wonders with Waddington milk curds; while Rupert Rowley, Head Chef of Michelin-starred Fischers Baslows Hall, provided a venison main and Freemasons at Wiswell chef Steven Smith delivered an Almalfi lemon meringue pie for dessert.

Hosted by Buy Art Fair's Thom Hetherington and Kate Goodman of West Didsbury's Reserve Wines, more than £30,000 was raised at the altruistic affair, the first AAH event of its kind in Manchester.
