WINTER may be a while off yet but the weather turned artic when the Coors Light Ice Bar ventured back to the city.
It didn’t even feel like I was in Manchester anymore
Bierkeller Entertainment Complex, within The Printworks, is the new host for the frosty and fun-filled ice bar every weekend from Friday to Sunday until the end of August. The Coors Light Ice bar, which has hit cities across the UK, comes complete with a fully stocked fridge (drinks are suitably chilled), giant polar bear ice sculpture and mini - curling games to keep guests occupied as the temperature plummets to -12 degrees.
The Coors Light Ice Bar was successfully launched to guests at the Bierkeller with a champagne and canapés reception - although the real fun would be spent mingling, drinking (and not-freezing) inside the impressive new drinking space.
The Ice Bar experience starts with getting appropriately dressed in matching fur-lined reflective ponchos, once inside to keep body heat up guests are given nicely chilled Coors Light beer, crisp house wine or chilled spirit and mixer.
Guest found the bar more cool than chilly as the Coors Light hosts encouraged mini-curling competitions and to snuggle up under furry blankets.
“The setup is fantastic, it’s so cool,” said one guest at the launch party. “It didn’t even feel like I was in Manchester anymore. I’ll definitely be coming back throughout summer. It’ll be great once the weather picks up and you can come down to Bierkeller - have a few drinks and then cool off and head back out for the night.”
Keeping with the ice-theme, hidden inside sections of the wall are a variety of snow-themed objects, including snowshoes, a bunch of red roses and a woolly mammoth. Funny anecdotes from the likes of Brad Pitt were also spotted in the walls of the crowded Ice Bar. Although, no word from the original ice man, Vanilla Ice.
The Coors Light Ice Bar will be calling Manchester Bierkeller Entertainment Complex home until the end of August ensuring Manchester is keeping things cool.
