It was bubbles galore in Alderley Edge on Friday night
Local celebrities and VIPs gathered for the launch party of the Italian Seafood restaurant and Franciacorta bar that has just opened on London Road. Well-heeled, coiffured and manicured locals all gathered to toast their new nautical neighbourhood venue with canapés and fizz.
The team behind this new Italian bar and restaurant is made up of Andrea Zecchino and Nino Caruso, founders of popular wine cafe chain Veeno, which now has 11 branches in the UK, including one in the city centre.
The new Italian restaurant and cocktail bar has a menu specialising in fresh seafood, gourmet fish and luxurious pasta dishes such as lobster linguini. They will also offer a dozen different varieties of Franciacorta – Italy’s answer to Champagne, one step up in quality from Prosecco and only produced near the fashion mecca of Milan in Lombardy.
Downstairs in the elegant bar area, well-toned bums perched on high stools watching corks popping and signature cocktails being shaken and stirred across the well stocked bar. The high tables at the front, which have been designed with incorporated ice buckets to keep bottles cold, were busy with revellers who spilled out onto the wooden terraced area outside.
Upstairs in the 80-cover restaurant and semi-private dining room, invited guests sampled a few of the dishes available on the mainly seafood menu such as octopus salad, bream with ginger, seared tuna and fried calamari.
